Our partner OpenDot successfully organised their first physical activity in the framework of the 8th intervention case, aiming to fostering community-based innovations in the local food environment. This initiative seeks to guide and transform consumer behaviour, with a special focus on primary school children from minority and migrant backgrounds, along with their families, institutions, and organisations.

The workshop was held in collaboration with Valdilana Hub and its Patto Educativo di Comunità. The day began with an inspiring visit to Cascina Oremo, followed by a session hosted by the Municipality of Valle Mosso. The event brought together a diverse group of local associations, experts, and community representatives to kick-start the co-design process.

The objectives of the session were to:

  • Understand the audience and stakeholders involved.
  • Strengthen relationships and networks to enhance the intervention’s impact.
  • Familiarise participants with the local context where the project will take place.

A highlight of the workshop was an exercise encouraging participants to envision the future of their community’s food system:

“It’s 2030. Thinking about your community, do you believe the food system will improve or worsen? What role will you play in this transformation?”

This collaborative activity inspired meaningful discussions, showcasing the commitment and efforts already underway within the community.
