Research led by CUES partner KU Leuven has delivered a critical overview of how
the digital food environment can be harnessed to promote sustainable eating. The
scoping review, published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and
Physical Activity
, is an essential contribution to the CUES project, directly informing
the design of our upcoming interventions.

The study analysed 57 research papers, covering a wide range of digital media types
including e-commerce platforms (like online supermarkets), social media,
sustainability apps, documentaries and blockchain-related technologies. The result is
a set of actionable results for stakeholders on how to best design digital
communication to steer consumers toward sustainable food choices.

This publication aligns with the objectives of Work Package 2 of the CUES project,
which investigates the key consumer factors influencing sustainable food behaviour.
