Sustainable Bites was an one-day EU Hackathon, organised by OpenDot focused on designing digital strategies to improve access to and availability of food sustainability-related information for adults aged 65 and over.

Participants collaborated in teams to tackle pre-defined challenges, aiming to create innovative, inclusive, and user-friendly solutions that empower older generations to make more informed and sustainable food choices in their daily lives.

The event took place simultaneously in Milan, Budapest, and Wageningen and the results were expected to be translated into design strategies that will be tested in both rural and urban settings to assess differences and potential impact.

In the upcoming year, the main activities will involve designing the intervention and implementing pilot tests across rural and urban contexts.
