Building trust in sustainable food systems requires policies that go beyond informing consumers. Food labelling, public procurement and citizen engagement all play an important role in creating food environments that make sustainable choices easier and more accessible. Strengthening these policy areas is essential to support the transition towards more sustainable food systems across Europe.

Within the framework of the Horizon Europe CUES (Consumers’ Understanding of Eating Sustainably) project, this Regional Policy Dialogue will bring together policymakers, researchers, public authorities, civil society organisations and food system stakeholders to explore how sustainable food policies can be more effectively implemented in Hungary. Through dialogue and the exchange of experiences and good practices, participants will discuss opportunities to strengthen food quality labels, sustainable public procurement and consumer engagement, contributing to the development of policy recommendations for more sustainable food systems.
