On 2 December, the CUES project will host an in-person Learning Community Dialogue in Brussels, bringing together local authorities, NGOs and civil society organisations, researchers, educational actors and other organisations working on – or interested in – food education and sustainable and healthy eating in schools.

The Dialogue will provide a space to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges and explore practical approaches to strengthening food education and supporting healthier and more sustainable eating habits in school settings.

The session will open with three short presentations offering different perspectives on food education in schools. OpenDot will introduce Fruttalu, one of the CUES interventions in Italy, exploring creativity and gamification in food literacy education. Rikolto will share learnings from the SchoolFood4Change Whole School Food Approach, which takes a holistic approach to embedding healthy and sustainable food across school life. Università di Parma will bring a longer-term perspective through Giocampus, reflecting on 25 years of promoting healthy eating among children and young people.

Following the presentations, participants will take part in an interactive workshop and group discussion to explore common challenges and opportunities, exchange experiences and identify practical approaches that can support food literacy and healthier and more sustainable eating in schools.

The session will also provide time for networking and connecting with others working towards similar goals across Europe.

Participation is free, but places are limited to 40 participants. Registrations will be reviewed and participation confirmed by the organisers.
