On 24 March 2025, Ágnes Szegedyné Dr. Fricz, representing Kislépték Association, a partner of the CUES project, delivered a presentation at the Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB) in Budapest, Hungary. The session introduced the CUES project and the Hungarian intervention, offering valuable insights into local actions that promote sustainable food systems.

The presentation, held in both English and Hungarian, was titled:
Consumers’ understanding of eating sustainably – CUES – We are local
Fenntartható élelmiszerfogyasztás – CUES – Helyben vagyunk

The session was part of an academic course aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of sustainability and the circular economy. It included interactive exercises, group work, and collaborative reflections on global challenges and local solutions. Key objectives of the course included:

  • Promoting sustainability through creative group collaboration
  • Sharing daily practices that support environmental responsibility
  • Learning from innovative companies and good practices, both domestic and international
  • Brainstorming local responses to global food system challenges

The course also provided a platform for exploring themes central to the CUES project, such as consumer empowerment, circularity in food systems, and multi-actor engagement for cultural, industrial, and policy change.

This event contributed to building awareness among future professionals and supported CUES’ mission to foster a more sustainable and inclusive food system across Europe.
